Winco Home Power has a history that stretches back 36 years old, to 1967. It's a classic story of 2 men and their vision.

The Story Begins in 1967

In 1967, the uncle/nephew team of Eric Loeffler and Hans Krueger saw the need for a generator manufacturing company to make equipment for the fast growing San Francisco/San Jose Bay Area, particularly for what would soon become known as Silicon Valley. They prospered from the beginning by making high quality units and by being willing to custom tailor their equipment for the specific needs of their customers.

Throughout the 1970's and the 1980's they prospered by broadening their product line and extending the customer base to include customers around the world - including NATO and the U.S. Army. They were awarded several patents during these years. The business became so large they took on another shareholder, David Loebree, who added an extensive marketing background to the technical & manufacturing expertise of the founders.

Home Generator Sales Begin

Manufacturing was phased out in the mid-1980's in favor of new activities in distribution, rental units, service/maintenance and, soon, the beginnings of a growing home generator market. At this time, the association with WINCO began. (see History of Winco)

Present ownership was established in 1988, upon the retirement of the major shareholders.
